One item, one van, no fuss
Not every job needs a full removal van. Sometimes you've just bought a sofa on Facebook Marketplace, won a dining table at auction, or need a wardrobe brought over from a shop in the Northern Quarter. That's exactly what we do: we collect it, wrap it, carry it in and out, and get it to your door, often within the hour.
Whether it's a three-seater Chesterfield or an American fridge freezer that won't go near a car boot, we bring the right van and the right number of people. Everything is wrapped, carried properly and strapped in the van before we move off.
What furniture can we transport?
- Sofas & couches: 2-seaters, 3-seaters, corner sofas, sectional sofas, sofa beds, recliners (manual and electric), chesterfields, and vintage settees. We've angled sofas through virtually every Victorian terrace door in Didsbury and Chorlton.
- Beds & mattresses: Divan bases, ottoman beds, wooden bed frames, headboards, and mattresses (single to super king). Mattresses are bagged for hygiene and strapped flat or on-edge.
- Wardrobes & storage: Freestanding wardrobes, sliding-door wardrobes, chests of drawers, tallboys, and dressing tables. We can disassemble if needed, just let us know when booking.
- Dining furniture: Dining tables (up to 12-seater), chairs, benches, sideboards, and display cabinets. Glass tabletops are blanket-wrapped separately and transported flat.
- Flat-pack & IKEA: We collect from IKEA Warrington, Ashton, and any furniture retailer in Greater Manchester. We can transport assembled furniture or flat-pack boxes, whatever you need.
- Outdoor furniture: Garden sets, patio heaters, BBQs, and planters. We recommend booking on dry-weather days for uncovered items.
The Victorian terrace sofa challenge, solved
If you live in a Manchester Victorian terrace, and half the city does, you know the problem. Lovely bay windows, high ceilings, and a front door barely wider than your shoulders. Getting a modern three-seater through that doorway is a geometry problem more than a strength problem. The trick is getting the sofa up on its end and working it through at an angle, with one of us inside and one out. We've done it thousands of times, and we carry corner protectors on every job so your paintwork and doorframes come out of it unscathed.
Furniture transport pricing

Sofa & Furniture Transport FAQ
Yes. All our packages include the driver helping with loading and unloading. For flats with stairs and no lift, select the 'stairs involved' option when booking. For very heavy items above the second floor without a lift, we recommend the driver + helper package.
Absolutely, this is one of our most common jobs. We'll go to the seller's address, help load the sofa into the van, transport it to your home, and help unload. You just need to coordinate with the seller on collection timing.
Every move is covered by our goods-in-transit insurance. Everything gets wrapped and strapped in the van, and in six years the damage rate is well under one in a thousand. If anything does go wrong, you're covered.
We get it up on its end and work it through at an angle, taking the legs or arms off where that helps. Between us we've carried sofas through more Victorian terrace doorways, apartment lifts and narrow hallways than we can count, and we carry blankets and corner protectors to keep your walls and doorframes safe.
Yes. For electric recliners we lock the mechanism and secure the cables, and large corner sofas can come apart into sections if that's what gets them through the door. Everything is wrapped and strapped upright in the van.
Sofa transport within Greater Manchester starts competitively priced for a single sofa with driver assistance. Larger items or multi-piece furniture loads range competitively depending on item count, distance, and whether stairs are involved. All quotes are clear and agreed before we load.
