Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
MURAD'S GROUP LTD (Company No. 09944394), whose registered office is at Unit 21 Vere Street, Salford, England, M50 2GR ("we", "us", "our"), provides removals, man and van, and transport services across Greater Manchester and the North West. When you contact us, book a move, or use this website, we become the data controller of the personal information you share with us, meaning we decide how and why it is used, and we are responsible for looking after it.
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It is written to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR).
If anything here is unclear, just ask, email muradsgroupltd@gmail.com or call 07402 966 998 and a real person will answer.
2. The information we collect
We only ask for what we genuinely need to quote for a job, carry it out safely, and get paid for it. In practice this means:
- Contact and booking details, your name, phone number, email address, and the collection and delivery addresses for your move.
- Move details, property types, floor levels, stairs and lift access, parking arrangements, and the items you need moving. This usually comes from a quick phone call rather than a form.
- Payment information, bank transfer references or card payment confirmations if you pay electronically. We do not see or store your full card numbers; any card payments are handled by our payment provider.
- Communication records, call notes, text messages, and WhatsApp conversations relating to your enquiry or booking, so we can keep our promises consistent.
- Technical data, if you browse this website, our hosting may process standard server logs such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. This is ordinary, short-lived technical data used for security and performance, not for building profiles about you.
We do not deliberately collect special category data (health, religion, ethnicity, and similar). If access requirements at your property tell us something sensitive, for example, that a resident uses a wheelchair, we treat that information as confidential and use it only to plan your move safely.
3. How we collect it
- Directly from you, by phone, WhatsApp, email, SMS, or when you use the quote form on this website.
- During the job, photographs of items or access points, taken with your knowledge where needed for insurance or access planning.
- From your device, basic technical logs when you browse this site, as described above.
- From public records, for example, Companies House data about your business if you book a commercial move.
4. Why we use your information, and our legal basis
UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful reason for everything we do with your data. Ours are straightforward:
- To quote, book, and carry out your move, this is performance of a contract: we cannot move your furniture without knowing where you live.
- To take payment and keep honest books, contract and legal obligation: tax law requires us to keep financial records.
- To stay in touch about your booking (confirmations, arrival times, delays), contract.
- To keep our business safe and running, website security, fraud prevention, and record-keeping are done under legitimate interests.
- To ask for reviews or tell past customers about our service, only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell it. Ever. To anyone.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
This website is deliberately lightweight: at the time of writing we set no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies. The only storage we use is what your browser needs for the site to function (for example, remembering whether you have opened the mobile menu).
If we later add analytics or advertising tools, such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel, we will update this policy, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent before those tools load. You can always control cookies through your browser settings; blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
6. Who we share information with
We share your data only where it is necessary, and only with:
- Communication providers, your phone number and messages pass through telephone and WhatsApp (Meta) networks when you contact us that way.
- Payment providers, if you pay by card or bank transfer, the relevant payment service processes the transaction.
- Professional advisers, our accountant and, where needed, our insurers (for example, if a claim is made about a move).
- Authorities, HMRC, regulators, or police, where the law requires us to disclose information.
Some of these providers (notably Meta and Google) operate outside the UK. Where personal data leaves the UK, we rely on the UK government's "adequacy" decisions or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) / UK Addendum to make sure it is protected to UK standards.
7. How long we keep it
- Customer and financial records, six years after your last booking, as required by tax law (HMRC can look back that far).
- Quote enquiries that don't become bookings, up to 12 months, so we can pick up the conversation if you call back, then deleted.
- Call and WhatsApp records, for the duration of the job plus a reasonable period afterwards, in case a dispute or insurance question arises.
- Marketing consent records, until you withdraw consent, plus a short record of the withdrawal itself.
8. How we protect your data
We run a small, hands-on business, and our approach to data security matches that scale: information is stored on access-controlled devices and accounts with strong authentication; paper notes from jobs are shredded once digitised or no longer needed; payment details are never written down or stored by us; and access to customer records is limited to the people who actually need it to do their job. This website is served over HTTPS, so anything you send through it is encrypted in transit.
If something ever went wrong, a breach likely to affect your rights, we would notify the Information Commissioner's Office within the statutory 72-hour window and tell you directly if the risk to you was high.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Be informed, this policy does that.
- Access your data, ask us for a copy of what we hold about you (a "subject access request").
- Correct it, if we've got an address or a name wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.
- Erase it, ask us to delete information we no longer need or no longer have a lawful reason to keep.
- Restrict or object to processing, including an absolute right to object to direct marketing.
- Data portability, get the data you gave us in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent, where we rely on consent, you can take it back at any time, and it will be as easy to withdraw as it was to give.
To use any of these rights, email muradsgroupltd@gmail.com or write to us at our registered office. We will respond within one month, and we will never charge a fee or ask why you're asking. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
10. Marketing
We may occasionally text or WhatsApp past customers about our services, for example, a seasonal reminder before the busy summer moving season. Under PECR we only send these to numbers we collected in the course of a sale (your booking), about similar services, and every message tells you how to opt out. If you'd rather never hear from us except about a booking you've made, say the word and that's how it will be.
11. Children
Our services are for adults arranging moves. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we don't market to children. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them promptly.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, for example, by adding analytics to the website, we will update this page and change the date above. If a change is significant, we will say so plainly. This page is always the current, authoritative version.
